The Fateh Prakash Palace Hotel is a part of the City Palace Complex, which was built, in early 20th century during the reign of Maharana Fateh Singhji. It is situated on the shore of Lake Pichola and presently comprises of seven regular suites and nine rooms making it one of the most exclusive Palace Resorts in India. Each suite is decorated to provide sumptuous comfort and contains original portraits and furniture, which have been in the family for generations.

Fateh Prakash is a royal residence decorated in the traditional style. Its antique furniture, its Durbar Hall with portraits of the Maharanas of Mewar and its Crystal Gallery has kept the spirit of the palace alive. A stay here gives the guest a taste of the royal life-style. All modern amenities have been provided for the convenience of the guest.

Shikarbadi, as the name indicates, was the hunting lodge of the royal family of Mewar. The original building in Shikarbadi was the hunting lodge of the Mewar Royal Family for centuries. It is situated approximately 4 kms outside Udaipur in breathtaking countryside. Guests here are frequently amazed by the tranquility and peace of this "get away from it all" location, despite its close proximity to the city.

The main building was constructed in the 1930s and was a private royal residence until 1980. The decision to convert this property into a hotel in 1975 has resulted in expansion in the form of chalet accommodation along the edge of the lake. This small hotel of Twenty-five rooms including 5 suites in the main building has an intimate and romantic atmosphere. Shikarbadi prides itself on serving typical Mewari cuisine in its two spacious restaurants; it also offers a selection of continental dishes. For those who want a change from eating in the restaurants or by the pool there is open air Risala where one can enjoy a campfire and barbecue. This is a unique venue and is particularly popular for celebrating occasions. An evening spent here is a time never to be forgotten because of the combination of the peace, the fire, the food and the feeling of being so remote from the outside world and yet only 15 minutes from Udaipur.

One can also take advantage of this privacy by holding a business conference here. The hotel can accommodate up to 100 delegates and offer them the peace one requires for work and the leisure activities which are so enjoyable after working hours.

Set amidst the serene Aravallis, Shikarbadi has its own private lake and a stud farm. The hotel is located in serene surroundings, which keep the clamor of the city out of its premises and give the guest ample opportunity to unwind. The neighboring countryside also invites wildlife lovers to explore the region on foot or horseback.

SHIV NIWAS PALACE, Udaipur

ShivNiwas in Udaipur is part of the City Palace. It is a blend of Mughal decorative art and Rajput military architecture. Situated on a hill, beside the Pichola Lake, the City Palace is simply enormous-an assemblage of not one but four separate palaces for colossal grandeur. The exterior walls are stark and undecorated but the interior records Mewar's admiration for the Mughal durbars. Extensive use of marble inlay work, paintings and mosaics in geometric and floral patterns, frescoes, coloured glass and decorative pavilions and fountains can be found here.

Shiv Niwas was the ancient guest house of the Mewar royalty and today it is one of the most luxurious hotels in Udaipur with an ambience that takes one back in time to the era of Maharajas and their regal life-style. Family portraits, original antique fixtures and furnishings from the house of Mewar give Shiv Niwas a charm of its own. From the balcony of the rooms here, it is possible to enjoy the wonderful view of the Lake Pichola, Lake Palace and Jagmandir.
